Breast cancer

STD screening

Yearly screening for sexually transmitted diseases such as Chlamydia amongst others will be carried out. Most of these STDs show no symptom but affect fertility.

Heart health screening   

Persons above the age of 18 are recommended to check their blood pressure regularly, especially those with a family history of high blood pressure, stroke and heart disease. For persons over 45, additional tests for cholesterol and triglyceride levels should be done.

Weight check

Your doctor will check your body mass index (BMI). Your BMI can indicate if you are obese or overweight. Overweight is a factor that increases the occurrence of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

Diabetes check

You would be checked regularly for diabetes, depending on your risk level. Example are those with a family history of diabetes, and gestational diabetes will be checked yearly for the condition.

Eye check

The older you get, your eyes will be checked more often,even if you do not use prescription glass.

Bone density check– your bone will be checked for osteoporosis (thinning of the bone).

Bowel cancer check- you will be asked to carry out a faecal occult blood test.

Your doctor may ask you to carry out further tests depending on the results they get from the necessary ones stated above. If you get a private health checks regularly, you are likely to avoid major health problems.
